Now that we are in the 15th day of free agency, it may be wise for those who care about what’s happening in the frenzy to know who you should be following…that is the Agents that are the ones striking up the deals.
Right now, everyone is awaiting the next tweet from @Jay_Grossman. Why? Jay is Ilya Kovalchuk’s agent. Jay is also from @PuckAgency. Their blog is also a must read. They take the top stories from off of the net that best represents their clients and puts it up on their blog. [I've been fortunate to hit their blog a few times.
] @Simon_Goldberg is also with the Puck Agency. Notable clients: Ilya Kovalchuk, Johan Hedberg, Anton Volchenkov.
@walsha Allan Walsh (Octagon Sports) represents many of the Czech hockey players out there plus some. He can sometimes be controversial and then his tweets end up hitting media outlets everywhere like its an OMG moment, but the things you can learn from this man…they’re tremendous. Notable clients: Patrik Elias, Petr Sykora, Martin Havlat.
Another Octagon Sports players agent is @benhankinson. Notable clients: Paul Martin, Jordan Leopold, Tim Jackman.
@NortonSports Scott Norton represents many of the big names in the NHL. This Chicago/LA based firm puts a lot of their clients to the forefront, not just as hockey players, but throw in some media blitz off of the ice. Notable clients: Dustin Brown, Cam Janssen, Matt Climie.
@ECiccone39 Enrico Ciccone is a former NHL player turned players agent. He’s also a hockey analyst for CBC/Radio Canada. Very cool person to read tweets from because you get the player’s point of view, the agent’s point of view, and the Habs fan point of view.
