People In the NHL You Should Be Following

As a hockey writer, I have to be in the know from the business side of things that deal with the NHL corporate office. That includes knowing and following the people at the NHL offices, including those who write for NHL.com.

@NHL is the first twitter account you should be following if you are a hockey fan. It doesn’t make sense if you’re not following them.

@nhlpa is the official twitter account for the NHL Players’ Association. You’ll be able to get up to date info on various items across the league and special interviews/projects involving the players.

@NHLShanny Brendan Shanahan. Why wouldn’t you be following him?

@NHLschuylerb Schuyler Baehman is the NHL Manager of Communications. One of the most unusual but amazing features Schuyler possesses is that if he meets you once, he remembers your name and just about everything about you. Amazing from a guy that has a lot of reporters and their affiliations that he has to remember.

@NHLdilo Michael DiLorenzo is the guy that manages the social media and business communications aspects of @NHL. Really cool guy to know.

@NHLFischel Mark Fischel’s tweets are not connected to the NHL, but you get to take a ride through his world as ‘that guy’ that has one of the coolest jobs in the world…working for the NHL. He’s also got a great network of friends you should be following. I do.

@NHLKerry Kerry McGovern is new to Twitter, but a familiar face to many in the media realm. She is the Senior Publicist to the NHL.

@stephbags Stephanie Bagley is one of the many people behind the social media aspects of @NHL. As a consultant, you’ll find many different aspects of the NHL world being brought to the fans through the @NHL twitter account.

@drosennhl Dan Rosen writes for NHL.com and is probably one of my favorite writers. He’s a great writer…and to some (me) he’s like a god of hockey writing.

@mike_morreale also writes for NHL.com. He’s from Jersey, so you’re more likely to find him covering the NJ Devils. But…he does cover the entire league.

@davelozo is another writer for NHL.com. His beat is the New York Rangers.

@sroarke_nhl Shawn Roarke is the managing editor for NHL.com.

@BComptonNHL Brian Compton is the night managing editor for NHL.com.

@MurphysLaw74 Jimmy Murphy is another writer for NHL.com, but his talents aren’t just limited to NHL.com. He’s also one of my colleagues at Inside Hockey.
