He’s Still Got ItI’ve been thinking over the past few weeks about the guy that got everyone laughing from his input on the Top 5 Best and Worst Dressed List and how he didn’t make the list this year.
I kept thinking to myself…gosh, he really needs some sort of recognition because the man has an excellent tailor and still dresses well.
NJ.com posted up this photo of Marty today and I couldn’t help but think…man, Marty’s still got it.
He gives off that “Wow” effect. That is…the clothes do.
So I decided that Marty should get his own recognition on my Best Dressed in the NHL list.
This recognition is a new recognition. This will only be awarded to one NHL player each year that defines great style that puts all other players to shame. It is the “Most Distinguished Gentleman” award in the best dressed category. He may not be an expert on fashion, but he can define the way a man should dress.
So this year’s recognition goes to Martin Brodeur. Will he get top honors again next year? We’ll see, because Marty may have some competition next year now that Ilya Kovalchuk has come along. [Kovy is one sharp dresser.]
And in other musings on this topic…
Yes, I do find it humorous that Mr. Fashionisto The Intern can’t make the Top 5 Best Dressed list and Marty Brodeur can. Marty knows not to wear leprechaun green plaid suits to the office (that’s all I’m saying).
Sometimes the classics can define a man. Trying too hard to be fashionable can actually make you a fashion flop (are you taking notes, Intern?).
At any rate, congratulations to Monsieur Brodeur for winning the 2010 NJBIZ Forty Under 40 award. This man makes New Jersey a better place. Thank goodness he’s a sharp dressed Forty Under 40.
